Filtration Efficiency
As an RO system, the Ecosoft filter has vast capabilities in reducing and removing water contaminants. The main element of the filter is a reverse osmosis membrane. The Ecosoft Standard filter has a membrane element with a capacity of 8 L/h
The Ecosoft RO filter produces 190 litres of filtered water per day and has an automatic shut-off system that goes into action when the RO tank is full.
This RO system comes with a designer chrome faucet compatible with RO filters, so you won’t have to spend time or money finding one yourself. Alternatively, the system can also be used with more advanced, 3-way kitchen taps.
Multi-Stage Filtration Stages
The reverse osmosis system is recognised as the most cost-effective method of household drinking water purification.
All 5 filters work together to flush away impurities and allow only the purest water into the tap for the whole family!
Stage 1: A 5-micron sediment pre-filter removes sand, silt, soil and other sediments from water. The filter is made of polypropylene fibre.
Stage 2: A 5-micron carbon block filter made of granulated activated carbon (GAC) material reduces chlorine, odour and other organic compounds from water.
Stage 3: A 1-micron sediment filter made of polypropylene fibre removes fine particles and remaining impurities.
Stage 4: The pre-filtered water is forced through the semi-permeable membrane and only clean water is passed to next stage of filtration. The polluted water is discarded away. The filtered water is then stored in a pressure tank.
Stage 5: When the tap is turned on, the filtered water from the pressure tap is passed through the 1-micron post-carbon filter. In this stage, dissolved gases in water are absorbed, imparting a pleasant taste to the resultant water
Maintenance
These filters have different service lives. Depending on the water quality in your area, the first three pre-filters which include 5-micron pre-filters and the 1-micron sediment pre-filter have to be replaced every 6-12 months.
The RO membrane needs to be replaced every 18-24 months, while the last 1-micron filter has to be replaced every 6-12 months.
Replacing these filters at the recommended times ensures that your RO unit stays in top shape and functions at optimum levels.
